Normally, this bastion of the legal profession is closed to the public. However, today, I was fortunate to find that there was an open day, and so I decided to take a walk around this historical part of London. The first place I entered was the great hall, which is a beautiful piece of architecture with walls adorned with members' coats of arms and portraits of members new and old and complimented some of the finest stained windows. The chapel is another piece of classic architecture. The chapel is situated on the first floor, but make sure you visit underneath at ground level and marvel at these walkways. This was an impressive look around a part of London, which is often not accessible.

Fabulous architecture and gardens. Lots of history and well worth reading up on the area. Good selection of expensive cars parked here! Search out the hawks that are brought here three times a week to keep the seagulls away. A perfect place to take time out from the busier parts of the city.

Beautiful architecture, well preserved, great historical value. It's worth a guided visit, especially through their library and dining hall. Also, the place is being renovated, so some parts are off-limits.

First time visiting this stunning hidden gem. Did you know it's the largest public square in London? And the grand architecture is captivating, lots to see, dont forget to look up. The gardens are perfect for a spot of pack lunch. Nearest tube stations, Holborn, Chancery Lane and Temple. Sir John Soane, London School of Economics, Royal college of Surgeons is all walking distance too.

We had a wonderful experience with this place. We booked an afternoon tea, which proved to be worth the money. Service was excellent and the Manager Sokol made us feel very welcome and he ensured we enjoyed the experience. I would definitely return after such a pleasant visit. Thank you

So can’t fault the set up and service. Downside was the food was not of the standard expected. I shared the £95 T-Bone which was tough and dry even though it had been cooked medium rare. The manager dealt with the issue very well but by then I was no longer hungry. The starters were a mixed bag, their sour dough was sub par but the popcorn shrimp was delicious. Just not worth the prices they charge.

The food, atmosphere, and service were excellent. My friend requested a vegetarian crudo option, which they were happy to accommodate (they brought us crispy rice with avocado). The crab and squid ink crudo was delicious, though I wish the base had held up better - it was a bit messy to eat, especially with a fork (chopsticks might work better). The sea bass was simply delicious, and I personally loved the purée-like consistency of the mash. PS: Farhan was an outstanding server. Not only was he incredibly kind throughout, but he also ran after me to return the shades I’d left behind. Such a superstar!

It started off on a slower note, as the staff was initially preoccupied with inventory tasks. However, the waitress was notably friendly and helpful. Each table was beautifully prepared with complimentaries, adding a considerate touch to the setting. The atmosphere at L'oscar is charming, boasting exquisite décor and exceptional attention to detail. The breakfast menu was satisfactory. I went for a selection of fruit salad, smoked salmon, and eggs with sourdough toast, all of which were quite enjoyable. However, the scrambled eggs were a bit of a letdown, lacking the creamy delicacy one might hope for in French-style scrambled eggs. Those who prefer their eggs on the softer side might find these less appealing.
